Bought an SE new in 2001, so far has 70,000 miles on and have had no reliability issues at all. The car is fairly comfortable and handles better than alot oc econo cars. Has all the options I wanted and everthing works great. The paint on the roof is begining to fade, but I do live in South Florida with no garage.

Best little car....,.,

I currently own a 2001 Nissan Sentra. It has over 240,000 miles on it, and it’s still running good. I recommend this little car highly.

My first car - gonna miss it

I bought this 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE used in 2004. It had 65,000 kilometers on it. Automatic transmission. Here it is in 2018 with 225,000 km on it and the transmission is still smooth. I've had my share of issues over the years but nothing for the first 5-7 years. Passenger window motor replaced, full mufflerand exhaust a couple of years ago. clear coat coming off. I did rust control the first few years and started to develop rust in the rocker panels. Top end of the gas tank started leaking so i could never fill it up all the way since, what 7 years ago. The catalytic converter went last month. now the head gasket is shot. I need to move on. Starting to rot out the floor under rear left seat. not a bad car and was reliable. not the most comfortable on long trips and road noise. It handled well in the snow on my end. I wouldn't recommend to anybody nowadays, it's too old.

It's a good daily driver and first car

The car serves me as a great daily driver, and first car for beginner drivers. It has good mileage and fuel efficient for the year the car was made.

Awesome first car

It always got me where I needed to go, awesome for an older car, window motor went bad but besides that the car had little to no problems. Clutch went bad at 150k miles.

Sentra SE fan on August 28, 2015

Reliable and sporty SE

I have had a 01 Sentra SE (2.0L) for over 10 years and it is now at 110K miles. No significant problems with regular oil change and service. Only recently the passenger side sun shade internal ratchet mechanism stopped holding up the shade. Tires make a difference in handling and noise. Use the right size and change when down to 10% or the car may shimmy at around 70 mph. I just put on new stock size Bridgestone Ecopia+ tires and the ride is smooth and quiet with good response. 3-6 inches of snow is no big problem with snow tires and I live in area with steep roads. The stock sound system is not so great sounding.

Worst car I've ever driven!

I'm 19 years old, I have the 2001 Nissan Sentra GXE, It's my second car,& I've had it for about 6 months, it has been nothing but a problem ever since. First day I drove it off my father's car lot, the radio, power mirrors & both of my cigarette lighter's stopped working. After that, 2 months later, the car starts to putter when idling, like at a stop light or something it will just randomly cut off, but will always start right back up. The car has NO "get up & go" whatsoever! Runs terrible with the air conditioning running. And about a month or so ago, the transmission started slipping,mind you the car only has 156,030 on it. The car if very uncomfortable, & small. Car should be made to only fit 4 people, barley. Nissan failed in making this model, better luck next time i guess. I'm selling this car ASAP. Going with a 2003 Altima 2.5S, We'll see how this goes, I've read some great reviews, I'll let you guys know.
