The truck is on of the most desirable trucks on the road. It tows, it moves easily in the city, it has enough power and top end speed to run smooth on the highway. Best truck ever. It ran just as well with 150,000 miles as it did with 1500 miles. These trucks run up to 300,00 - 400,000 miles with very little maintenance. Buy one.

Have the 2006 double cab, SR5 package with a cab. At 13 years old, it seems new still. Lots of room, long bed, tow options. LOVE it.

Reliability is its selling point. I have nearly 200k miles on mine and the only major expense has been a new rack and pinion steering rack. $1100. The paint for 2006 model year is horrendous. Mine is black and the paint on the hood and top has totally cracked, flaked, or peeled off all the way down to the metal. That’s a $6000 paint job, or $3700 if you go to Maaco. Motor and transmission has been flawless if properly maintained. Oil changes ever 5000 miles is a must. The interior cloth is wearing pretty well with the exception of the driver’s seat, but that’s understandable considering my butt has slid into the seat probably 5000 times. The side edge is showing a lot of wear and tear. The ride is stiff, more than most truck, but I’ve gotten use to it. Would I buy another one? Yes, in a minute, but I’d probably pay more attention to the paint next time. Excellent Truck!!!!!

It needed a new clutch at 67,000 and again at 108,000. New frame because the old one rotted 105,000. New air conditioner 125,000. Three universal joints replaced. Tire pressure light always blinking since 40,000. CD player skips constantly since 40,000. I've driven vehicles with clutches since 1966. My last truck had 275,000 miles on it without any clutch issues.

Everyone always told me toyota was the way to go, I found out it wasn't. I bought this pickup new in 2006 and it hasn't lived up to my expectation. the 2.7 liter doesn't EVER run right and I only get about 13 city because of it. The transmission went out of it for no reason at 18,000 ( i never pull/haul any heavy loads over 500lbs). The A/C compressor quit a while back and had to get that replaced. The VVT-i is awful, it wont accelerate to highway speeds, the brakes pulse, and i don't want to continue. I've taken it in for warranty work and nothing gets accomplished. I can make a Ford F-150 run for over 300,000 miles but I cant get a Toyota to run for more than 18,000...whats up with that?

Great Truck.Reliability is its selling point. I have nearly 200k miles on mine and the only major expense has been a new rack and pinion steering rack. $1100. The paint for 2006 model year is horrendous. Mine is black and the paint on the hood and top has totally cracked, flaked, or peeled off all the way down to the metal. That’s a $6000 paint job, or $3700 if you go to Maaco. Motor and transmission has been flawless if properly maintained. Oil changes ever 5000 miles is a must. The interior cloth is wearing pretty well with the exception of the driver’s seat, but that’s understandable considering my butt has slid into the seat probably 5000 times. The side edge is showing a lot of wear and tear. The ride is stiff, more than most truck, but I’ve gotten use to it. Would I buy another one? Yes, in a minute, but I’d probably pay more attention to the paint next time. Excellent Truck!!!!!

Chase out fuel pump 2 times and alternator rear spFuel pump went out 2 times alternator went out and rear spring broke off and seat belts do not engage properly and comeing to a stop truck jecks

2006 Toyota Tacoma pure crap.Car needs a new cluster. Toyota has not delivered the part in six weeks. No more Toyotas for me. It keeps giving a check engine

Just bought it - seems solid.Its a utilitarian stripped down Access Cab. Plenty of power with the V6 and tugs like a tugboat with 4WD. A dog can fit in the Access seat; people? Not so much.

Most Expensive upkeep vehicle I've ever owned.The upkeep on this vehicle is vary expensive, especially the factory installed TRD big brake kit from Stop Tech. Aluminum and steel next to each other causes excessive corrosion. Plus the frame not being treated at all for rust.

Excellent ReliabilituI owned this truck for 14 years and never had any type of break down until I reachEd 215,000 miles. It seemEd to ride harsh compared to it competitors. The styling on Toyota trucks is very much lacking as well. However, the dependability more than makes up for it. The resale value on a 14 year-old Tacoma is higher percentage of the original purchase price then I once got on a 1.5 year old ram Laramie 4 x 4!

Never look back owning it. I like it.Over all best truck I ever had.I owned GMC. trucks they were breaking down after 3 years. I have 147 thousand miles on ,every button is working.

Truck is Indestructible. Low Maintenance Costs!The truck is on of the most desirable trucks on the road. It tows, it moves easily in the city, it has enough power and top end speed to run smooth on the highway. Best truck ever. It ran just as well with 150,000 miles as it did with 1500 miles. These trucks run up to 300,00 - 400,000 miles with very little maintenance. Buy one.

318,575 miles and still running strongBest vehicle ever! Never garaged, Midwest winters and always faithful. Synthetic oil changes every 6,000 miles. Still looks great too. Recall for frame rusting, though minor,still toyota replaced entire propane at 280,000 miles.

Best truck I ever driven.The one I drove had everything I wanted with some added features like a camera to look at when you reverse. Amazing power for a v6. Has enough space to fit 4 people or even 5.
