The Good
The 2018 Toyota Tacoma offers excellent reliability and strong resale value, appealing to practical buyers. Its off-road capabilities, particularly in TRD trims, resonate emotionally with adventure seekers. Performance is adequate for daily driving and light towing. While not the most comfortable, the design is ruggedly appealing. The efficiency is decent for a truck of its class.
The Bad
Weaknesses of the 2018 Toyota Tacoma include its somewhat cramped rear seating in Access Cab models and a dated interior design compared to competitors. The V6 engine, while adequate, can feel underpowered at times. Some owners have reported issues with the automatic transmission's shift points. Watch out for potential rust issues, especially in areas with road salt.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features are relatively basic, with standard Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) including pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert, automatic high beams, and dynamic radar cruise control. Blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert were available as optional features on higher trims.
Safety features include standard anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, and multiple airbags. How Does the 2018 Toyota Tacoma Compare to Other Pickup Truck?
Alternatives to the Tacoma depend on priorities. If performance is paramount, the Colorado/Canyon with the V6 may be a better choice. If modern tech is desired, consider the Ranger (market availability dependent) or a newer Colorado. If budget is a major concern, the Nissan Frontier offers good value. However, for overall reliability and resale value, the Tacoma remains a strong choice. Newer versions of the alternatives mentioned tend to also offer greater features.

So far I am very pleased with my Toyota Tacoma, itSo far I am very pleased with my Toyota Tacoma, it is more than I expected and the biggest surprise is the low interior noise and the smooth ride. I was able to go down to south Florida (Pembroke Pine area with my three kid and they enjoyed the ride. Every time we are going some where they want me to take the Tacoma instead of my wife Honda mini van.

Tacoma owner for yearsExcellent truck, Tacoma's are great for everyday use and great in snow. Fun to drive, reliable, cost effective, well made, visually appealing, long lasting, great product for the price.

Iβm very impressedIβve had a lot of full size V8 trucks, this is my first Tacoma. At 5β10 it has plenty of room, I like the long bed, and 4x4 gives me options to get off the pavement. These trucks are very reliable, fuel efficient and have a ton of accessories to set yours apart. This truck rides better than my 2018 F150 2wd eco boost. Got the 100k warranty, It should provide years of fun

YOU CAN'T BEAT THE DEPENDABILITY OF A TACOMAThis is my third tacoma double cab, and I have had nothing but great service from these trucks. From commuting to work or going to the woods, you can't beat it.

As always, best in class without a doubt.Started with a 1993 Toyota pickup (before the Tacoma name) 2003 Off Road, 2014 Sport & now a happy owner of a fully loaded Sport model since July 2018. I really didn't consider anything else because nothing else in it's class compares to the Tacoma. It is by far the hottest looking truck on the road & I've tweaked mine to my personal style. I don't notice any transmission shifting issues or any stiff driving that some owners complain about. The ride is very smooth, although I do agree that the seats do become very hard on longer drives & the Entune radio tethering errors can be frustrating, but the pros far outweigh the cons. From all the great safety features to the power moon roof & sliding rear window, heated seats, hard tonneau cover w/locking tailgate & much more, I love this truck & would highly recommend it. Yes, the Tacoma may be more expensive, but like anything else you get what you pay for & you'll be a lot more satisfied if & when you decide to resale or trade. I know because I've been in the Toyota family for 28+ years.

Not as good as the generations that came before itI bought my 2018 TRD Off Road in December of 2018 as a new vehicle. I bought it as a weekend driver and after two years plus I finally traded it in with 4k for miles. The quality is just not as good as Toyota trucks from the past. I should know, this was my fourth Toyota truck and easily the worst one of the bunch. The audio system is first in class junk. The dash had numerous rattles when freezing. The blower motor rattles when freezing. The transmission shifts weird even with the firmware update. It made it better, but the engine is just wrong for this truck. The A/C system is so poorly designed that there's a TSB to add another cooling fan. There are numerous TSBs that should be researched before buying this truck used. Examples include, timing cover leaks, 3rd brake light leaks, rear diff noise. Do your homework before buying used. The only good thing I can say was I lost very little trading it in, because Tacoma owners are cultish and drive the prices high.

Underpowered!!Very disappointed in my 2018 Tacoma sport. Canβt maintain speed especially with 400 lbs of cargo. Wouldnβt tow with this truck. Transmission seems to be problem. Shifting is all over the place and have to downshift just to keep up with traffic. Had it for 2.5 years and 18k miles. This is my 2nd Tacoma and my first got me to 300000 miles. Iβll be trading this in
