What Problems Does the 2014 Honda Accord Have?
Recalls for the 2014 Accord have addressed issues such as potential fuel leakage due to a faulty fuel pump and problems with the airbags. Owners should check the NHTSA website for the latest recall information and ensure all recalls have been addressed. Long-term reliability concerns generally revolve around the transmission and potential for increased oil consumption as the car ages. Regular maintenance, including timely fluid changes and inspections, is essential to mitigate these risks. Some owners also note that the direct fuel injection system in the four-cylinder engine can lead to carbon buildup over time, potentially impacting performance.

How Does the 2014 Honda Accord Compare to Other Sedan?
In terms of reliability, the Accord and Camry are generally considered top choices. The Accord offers a good balance of performance, features, and reliability. Its infotainment system is generally less intuitive than some rivals. The Mazda6 offers a superior driving experience but may not be as reliable long-term. The Fusion's reliability can be more variable.
Alternatives: If reliability is the top priority, the Toyota Camry is a similar alternative. If a sportier driving experience is desired, the Mazda6 is worth considering, keeping potential reliability concerns in mind. The Ford Fusion offers a more distinctive design. Ultimately, the best choice depends on individual priorities and preferences.

This is hands down the best car I have ever owned! This is hands down the best car I have ever owned!! I've had it 11 years and my 2014 Honda Accord has never needed a repair. I have only ever had to do regular maintenance on it (battery, brake pads, tires, etc). What an incredible value at $22K!!! One feature that has been buggy is the infotainment/Bluetooth but I can live with it.

While my 2014 Accord has but 78000 miles on it, it hasWhile my 2014 Accord has but 78000 miles on it, it has been showing its 10+ years of age. Power train is fine, but brakes recently showed alarming tendency to seize (corrosion). More recently, I hear either a wheel bearing or CV joint starting to fail in the front end. Also the original starter motor failed at ~40000 miles requiring its replacement. This was not unique to my Accord. I have owned 3 Accords. This 2014 has been the most troublesome. Has Honda's quality control in general been slipping? This Accord would seem to make me believe it has.

Best car for the money! My son in law purchased it new and I bought it from him one year ago. For the value and reliability, it's a game winner! I have 154,000 miles and planning on keeping it for another 150,000 miles!

Some issuesI can't really say I would recommend this car or not recommend it. There are good things about it but I've definitely had some issues. I drive very conservatively because I usually have my dogs with me so I don't get on the gas or anything. I bought the car used in 2016 with only 11,000 miles on it. When my car had only 29,000 miles on it, the water pump went out and serpentine belt broke at the same time. This was 1:30 AM and thank goodness I was at a friend's house a mile away and not 30 miles away or something on an interstate. This was very disappointing for the fact that we bought a Honda for the reliability. Then my starter went out after 59,000 miles. The volume on my radio knob started going in and out after maybe 28,000 miles; thank goodness I have a volume control on my steering wheel but I don't know how long that will last. The heat/air condition vents seeem to be made cheaply like they could break when I try to adjust them. There are good things about the car like how it handles and it's a smooth ride. Honestly, I don't know if I'll buy a Honda again. I always had Nissan before and this was my first Honda.

Mixed review, great design with electrical flaws.Great handling, nice design, bumpy ride, electrical problems. Once every 6 months or so the car would not start. After 5 years, dashboard warnings stay on, requires nearly $3k to fix.

I got my moneys worth. lt's a decent car.Be ready for things to break down. Have changed CVT, starter, catalytic converter. Car is prone to problems. Electrical issues seem possible but I haven't had too many issue with it. Bought it at 60k miles transmission went completely out at 150k. I'm at 220K miles right now and will see how it goes. Overall it's a good car somewhat reliable and I have gotten my moneys worth. I use this car for delivery use. Bought this car for the brakes, brakes ended up being one of the worst parts of this car. Better than a lot of cars out there. Would prefer this car to a Camry or Corolla. I like the handling and the horsepower. The gas mileage is good. The front seats are very bad comfort wise while the backseats are good. Side mirrors give very bad distortion wise it's very hard to tell exactly whose in the lane next to you, you have to look multiple times and turn your head to be sure.

Love My 2014 Honda LX, Hate My Local DealershipI purchased the Accord LX new in October 2014. Overjoyed with the fact that I found this with a manual transmission. After 6 years of ownership and 68K miles later, I'm still very pleased with the car give or take a few hiccups. Disappointed that after 2020, the Accord will no longer be produced with a manual transmission as an option. Summer 2018: Took a road trip to SC and discovered my AC was no longer working, and was blowing lukewarm air. Got a can of the recharge stuff and fixed it myself. First time in my Honda ownership that the AC has crapped out on me. January 2021: Smelled burning oil and discovered my oil was very low in vehicle. Took to Honda dealership and was told I have a valve cover gasket leak. Shocked because I'm never had gasket issues of any kind in my previous Hondas. Another Honda ownership first. Everything else has been routine maintenance. Change oil, rotate tires. 1 new battery in Jan. 2021. Had to have new brakes put on all around and swap out brake fluid in Feb 2021. That's the first major money I've spent on the car. Fixing gasket issue next month but local mechanic said it's not a major concern. Other than that, the car has been a trooper. Minor complaints about seat/door materials getting a white filmy substance from my elbow resting on the window ledge. All Hondas could use lumbar support in lower trims. Plenty of leg room for rear passengers. I typically stick with the entry level trims. Less stuff to go wrong.
