What Problems Does the 2022 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Have?

While the 2022 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is generally considered reliable, some owners have reported issues, primarily related to the complex electronics and infotainment system. Frequent complaints involve the MBUX system freezing, glitches with the navigation, and connectivity problems with smartphones. Some users have also mentioned issues with the driver-assistance features, such as the adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, experiencing occasional malfunctions or unexpected behavior.

Recalls can vary, but common areas of concern across recent Mercedes-Benz models involve potential issues with fuel pumps, steering components, and airbag systems. It's crucial to check the NHTSA website for any specific recalls affecting the 2022 E-Class model year.

Long-term reliability concerns often revolve around the air suspension system (particularly in higher trims like the AMG models), which can be expensive to repair. The mild-hybrid system, while enhancing performance and efficiency, also introduces additional complexity that could lead to future problems. Regular maintenance, performed by qualified technicians, is essential to mitigate potential issues and ensure long-term reliability. Checking owner forums and online resources can provide valuable insights into common problems experienced by other owners.

How long will the 2022 Mercedes-Benz E-Class last?

With proper maintenance, a 2022 Mercedes-Benz E-Class can easily provide 150,000 to 200,000 miles or 10-15 years of service. Long-term durability depends heavily on adherence to the recommended maintenance schedule. Weaknesses over time tend to be related to the aforementioned electronics, air suspension (if equipped), and potential issues with the mild-hybrid system components. Rust is generally not a major concern, but it's still important to inspect the undercarriage, especially in regions with harsh winters. Regular fluid changes and proactive maintenance are crucial for maximizing longevity.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz E-Class boasts a sophisticated array of technology and safety features. Standard features include the MBUX infotainment system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. The entertainment system is highly customizable and responds to "Hey Mercedes" voice commands.

Driver-assistance features include standard forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and a driver attention monitor. Optional features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane change assist, and a surround-view camera system. The optional Driver Assistance Package adds even more advanced safety features.

Safety is a priority, and the E-Class typically performs well in crash tests. The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) ratings should be consulted for the specific 2022 model year, but historically, the E-Class has earned high marks. Optional features like active steering assist and evasive steering assist further enhance safety.

Overall, the E-Class offers a comprehensive suite of technology, entertainment, driver-assistance, and safety features, making it a technologically advanced and safe vehicle.

The Most Impressive Mercedes Yet !

The confidence you feel driving a Mercedes’ is unmatched, unfortunately there are few discrepancies ..The seats are too confining, you can’t squirm or move in any direction. I think these movements are necessary for long term driving.A lot of the options the car has are complicated to use and some even unnecessary. As for the handling, braking, response time is excellent! my sixth Mercedes, but it’s my first new One!! The overall experience thus far has been Great !! Bravo Mercedes!
