The Good
The 2010 Cayenne offers impressive performance for an SUV, a comfortable and luxurious interior, and distinctive Porsche styling (emotional appeal). Its spacious cabin and available all-wheel drive provide practicality. The Cayenne also held its value relatively well compared to some competitors. It is not known for its stellar fuel efficiency or low cost of ownership, though.
The Bad
Potential weaknesses of the 2010 Cayenne include higher maintenance costs compared to non-luxury SUVs. Watch out for potential air suspension issues, coolant pipe leaks (especially on V8 models), and transfer case problems. Fuel economy is generally poor, and some find the styling polarizing. Electrical issues are also reported, especially with older models.

What Problems Does the 2010 Porsche Cayenne Have?
Air suspension malfunctions are also common, requiring expensive replacement of struts or compressors. The transfer case can develop issues, leading to noises and potential failure.
Electrical problems, such as malfunctioning sensors, issues with the infotainment system, and battery drain, are also reported. Some owners have experienced issues with the cardan shaft. Specific to the 2010 model year, some reports mention oil leaks and issues with the direct fuel injection system on V8 engines. It's crucial to have a pre-purchase inspection performed by a qualified Porsche mechanic to assess the condition of these components. Recalls have been issued for various Cayenne models over the years, but it's essential to check the NHTSA website for recalls specific to the 2010 model year and ensure that any necessary repairs have been completed. Overall, while the Cayenne offers performance and luxury, potential owners should be prepared for potentially higher-than-average maintenance and repair costs.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features were relatively limited compared to modern vehicles. Available options included parking sensors and a rearview camera. Safety features included anti-lock brakes, stability control, and a full complement of airbags (front, side, and curtain).
Optional features such as adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning were also available. Crash-test ratings from the IIHS and NHTSA vary depending on the specific model year and testing methodology. However, generally, the Cayenne performed well in crash tests for its class, offering a good level of occupant protection. Availability of optional features varied depending on the trim level and packages selected. The infotainment system, while functional, is dated compared to current standards, lacking features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It relies on physical buttons and a smaller screen, which can be less intuitive to use.

How Does the 2010 Porsche Cayenne Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?
Alternatives to consider include the BMW X5 (for better reliability and a similar driving experience), the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class (for a more comfortable ride and potentially lower maintenance costs), the Audi Q7 (for a more spacious interior and user friendly technology). If reliability is a top priority, the Lexus RX is a strong alternative, though it lacks the Cayenne's performance focus. The Acura MDX is another option which provides more value for money and more reliability than the Cayenne. Ultimately, the best alternative depends on individual priorities and budget.

Unbelivable value for the money (if you buy used)Truly premium comfort for active people. Want to go snowboard/ski ? no problem. Some off-road on way ? no problem. 4 more people want to go with you and be in comfort ? no problem. Bose sound system and actually good seats in combination with precise steering and AWD with fast transmission that helps put V8 power down to road will make you want to go places.

Two much money for what you get.Not worth the time or the effort to even go an see it. The people from the dealer are very nice and knowledgeable but the car is noticed that has not had a good life up to their hands. The suspensions sounds like an old car. An it feels like the motor is weak for the miles.

It's a Porsche......as in, the performance is great(!) as well as the maintenance costs. Never forget, 'pay to play.' Otherwise, the interior bits are cheaply made, but I knew that going into the purchase.
