What Problems Does the 2017 Porsche Cayenne Have?
Recalls can vary, so checking the NHTSA website is essential. Some common recall areas across the Cayenne range have included fuel leaks and potential fire hazards.
Long-term reliability concerns often center around the complexity of the vehicle. As these Cayennes age, the likelihood of encountering issues with sensors, actuators, and other electronic components increases. Regular maintenance, including fluid changes and inspections, is crucial to mitigating these risks. Furthermore, the turbocharged engines require diligent care to avoid problems with turbocharger failure or oil leaks. The hybrid system in the E-Hybrid models also introduces additional complexity and potential long-term maintenance needs.
How long will the 2017 Porsche Cayenne last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Standard driver-assistance features are relatively limited but include a rearview camera and parking sensors. Optional features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a surround-view camera system.
Safety features include multiple airbags, anti-lock brakes, and stability control. The NHTSA and IIHS crash-test ratings can vary; it is best to check these agencies' websites for specific 2017 Cayenne ratings.
Optional tech highlights included Porsche Car Connect, offering remote vehicle access and monitoring. The adaptive cruise control system is well-regarded for its smooth operation. The available air suspension not only enhances ride comfort but also allows for adjustable ride height. Some models offered LED headlights and a panoramic sunroof. While modern by 2017 standards, the tech isn't as advanced as newer SUVs, particularly concerning infotainment system speed and smartphone integration capabilities.

How Does the 2017 Porsche Cayenne Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?
In terms of reliability, the Cayenne is generally comparable to its German rivals but might not match the reliability of the Lexus RX. Price-wise, the Cayenne tends to be competitive, but options can quickly escalate the cost.
Alternatives: If performance is paramount, the BMW X5 or Range Rover Sport are good options. If comfort and luxury are the priorities, the Mercedes-Benz GLE or Audi Q7 are worth considering. If reliability is the main concern, the Lexus RX, though less sporty, is a more dependable choice. The Acura MDX can be a budget-friendly alternative, although it lacks the prestige and performance of the Cayenne.

Too expensive to fix without insuranceGreat until the extended warranty ran out And 2023. Cost of replacing a valve and associated work was $5000. Shakes if rear windows open from wind. Aerodynamic so so.

Great Porsche SUC to own. This was my first introduction to the Porsche brand and I have become a winner and believe in the business. The Porsche Cayenne is not like any other SUV and it sits in a class by itself. The styling, performance, and quality displays how a business that is use to doing thinks right, can get it right.
