The Good
The 2023 Honda Civic offers a compelling blend of practicality and enjoyment. Its reputation for stellar reliability appeals to practical buyers. The Civic's comfortable ride, stylish design, and efficient engines attract those seeking a pleasant and economical driving experience. Strong resale value and overall value make it a smart choice.
The Bad
While generally reliable, the 2023 Honda Civic's infotainment system can sometimes be unintuitive. Some may find the base engine underpowered, especially with a full load. Road noise can be noticeable at higher speeds. Consider higher trims for a more premium experience and enhanced features. Inspect for potential electronic glitches.

Final Verdict: Is the 2023 Honda Civic a Good Passenger Sedan?

decent car with significant shortcomingsI purchased the car new with the intent to get a fairly inexpensive commuter car with all the bells and whistles a car like that I believe should have - got the touring version. After two months I have mixed feelings. The handling is excellent, engine on a highway does deliver remarkable dynamic performance relative to what it is but will never deliver the advertised fuel economy if you drive in any other but conservative manner. Dynamic driving just strains the tiny turbo too much. I formerly had a 3.0L V6 Honda and the fuel consumption stayed within relatively stable range regardless of the driving style, which tells you small turbo engines are inferior to naturally aspirated ones. The level of highway road noise is one of the worst for the segment and is unacceptable in a commuter car although I read that changing tires would help alleviate it by about 50-60% (the OEM tires are total trash). On a bad pavement it is so bad, it makes enjoying the otherwise excellent Bose stereo system impossible and will interfere with spoken navigation commands, which will not be understood due to background noise. Supposedly the Touring version has sound deadening panels but they must be paper thin. The engine auto shut off feature only looks good on paper, in an urban environment it will only save a fraction of a percentage point. It is just for government regulations compliance, I don't think anyone sensible would actually want to use this feature.

A car that looks good and save gas now in days! After changing jobs and having to drive 100 miles round trip, I decided to buy the 2023 Honda Civic, I think it was the best decision of my life, not only does it save me a lot of gas but it looks spectacular on the outside and not to mention The interior is simply perfect with a lot of space, like any criticism there are negative points such as the sound system which in my opinion lacks power to be able to listen to your favorite songs at full volume, another point that I would like to highlight is that it lacks entry to the car without having to use your remote control even my 2011 grand cherokee has it, in a general perspective it seems like a good car for price, safety and appearance, it has been my first honda and I think I will continue with the tradition of continuing to buy this model for a long time

Sport modeThe new civic rides rough and even rougher in sport mode a lot of road noise but very stylish looking exterior, sound system a little weak. Wish it came with a leather interior, cloth gets dirty quick

I'm highly concerned with Lane Control/steering.I have a 2023 Civic Sport, and first off my true complaint is about the lane control. The car senses when “too close†to a lane and vibrates the wheel. For some reason you have to over correct the wheel for it to sense you have control of the car. In my situation, I had both hands on the wheel at the time and was going about 35-40mph, a few seconds prior to the alert I made sure I was well within my lines. It sensed I was close according to the computer and I had to over corrected causing me to curb the car and the axle was damaged. I have a lease right now and am personally anxious about getting back in with the technology. If I can get out of it I definitely will be.

Incredible civic.i purchased a 2022 Honda civic sport touring hatchback in the beautiful sonic gray pearl. it is everything the professional car experts said it was and more. it rides great with crisp handling and the power from the 1.5 liter turbo is so much fun. i love the styling and the Led lights are very bright and safe. I'm getting 31 mpg in the city and 37 on hwy. I love the Honda brand and i love my civic. great job Honda.

One of the best cars I have ever purchased!I bought a new 2023 Civic Sport, in Rallye Red, in December. I was also considering the Accord, but after I drove the Civic, it was the better choice, hands down. Not only is it at least 5K less in price, but the refined way it drives and the roominess of the interior, felt similar to an Accord anyway. It averages 34 MPG just around town and I haven't even put it out on the road yet. The interior is fantastic. It is upscale, way beyond the price point point it is at. It has all the safety tech I want. It is comfortable, and it is quiet. Most of the time, I cannot even hear the engine running. The 2.0 is responsive and has plenty of power. It is a better engine than the 1.5 turbo, and will far outlast it. The exterior is very stylish. People have actually asked me if I am driving an Accord. I could not be more pleased with my purchase.

I'm so disappointed in Honda's 2023 CivicBooo! Honda took the power drivers seat, the fog lights, the blind spot camera, and sirius xm radio out of the 2023 Civic EX. There are no louvered vents or aux ports so you cannot install an after market sirius radio! They also took out the temperature gauge so you can't tell when the car is warm so you know when to turn the heat on. Unless they make some changes for the better, this will be my last Honda! I've owned four!
