Its reputation for reliability and strong resale value adds to its value proposition. While not a performance car, it provides comfortable ride quality and decent fuel efficiency. The Impreza's safety ratings offer peace of mind, appealing to those seeking a dependable and secure vehicle.
The Bad

Final Verdict: Is the 2021 Subaru Impreza a Good Hatchback?

I bought a 2021 Impreza sport after having a Civic sportI bought a 2021 Impreza sport after having a Civic sport and didn’t think it would be a downgrade. The performance for a sport trim is very poor, it has trouble keeping up with traffic. The AWD didn’t give me as much confidence as I’d like when drove it in its first snowstorm. I was let down with the gas mileage as well. The interior and tech is buggy too. The windows sometimes roll back down and stay down when rolling up. The “premium†sound system has a speaker rattling already. Other small things like the music/radio still plays after shutting the engine off which I'd like to change but can’t. The cargo space is surprisingly small given that it’s a hatchback too. Hey, heated seats at least! I don’t regret buying it necessarily, but given Subaru’s reputation I am extremely disappointed. It’s fine for a car to get you from point A to B that “looks†cool. It’s not fun to drive and I can’t wait to trade it in.

Most reliable car I’ve owned. My third Impreza!I always feel very safe with Vermont winters. Always feel I have control even in inclement weather! I love all the standard features and feel safe driving my grandchildren in this car.

Great basic carThis is a perfect car replacing my old Ford Focus, Simple and reliable. Great maneuvering and good gas mileage. Very reasonable price and value compared to similar cars.

Superbaru valueSteering is not as firm as i’d like, but it is good. Ride is good. noise level is good. Visibility is fantastic. Important Controls are handy, obvious and easy to use. Braking is outstanding. Very good value, just not a stunner.

This car has eyes!I recently traded in my 2016 Impreza for the 2021 model. It is no doubt superior to the last car in every way! The handling, acceleration, and CVT transmission were outstanding and clearly noticeable. I love the Eyesight drive assist mode. This may be an exaggeration, but I feel it's only one step down from Tesla's autopilot.

Wife is jealous, wants one for her self.I'd been eyeing the impreza of about a year. My transmission blew on my car and bought a white sedan premium. Love the car, fits our family of 3 great. My wife wants to trade her Jeep Cherokee in on the hatchback version.
