The Good
The 2010 MX-5 Miata excels in providing a thrilling driving experience with its responsive handling and rev-happy engine. Reliability is generally good. It offers decent fuel efficiency. For practical buyers, it's an affordable sports car with a proven track record. Emotionally, it delivers open-top fun and a connection to the road unmatched by many modern cars. Its classic design also contributes to its appeal.
The Bad
The 2010 MX-5 Miata's weaknesses include limited cargo space and a relatively small cabin, which may not suit taller drivers. The ride can be firm. Some owners have reported issues with soft tops leaking or wearing prematurely. Check for rust, especially in coastal areas. The limited-slip differential on some models might require attention over time.

What Problems Does the 2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata Have?
How long will the 2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Safety features include standard antilock brakes (ABS), stability control, and front airbags. Side airbags were optional.
Optional features included Sirius satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity (on some trims), and a navigation system (which was considered dated even in 2010).
Crash-test ratings from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) are mixed. While the Miata performed well in some tests, it received lower ratings in others, particularly for roof strength, which is a consideration given its convertible design. Prospective buyers should review specific crash-test results for the 2010 model year. Overall, the Miata's tech and safety features are adequate for its time, but it lacks the advanced systems found in many modern vehicles. Its focus remains on providing a pure and engaging driving experience.

How Does the 2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata Compare to Other Sedan?
In terms of performance, the Miata is known for its superior handling and balance compared to its rivals. While not the most powerful, its lightweight design makes it incredibly nimble. Feature-wise, it lags behind the luxury contenders but offers essential equipment at a reasonable price.
A potential alternative, depending on budget and priorities, could be a newer Mazda MX-5 Miata (ND generation, 2016 onwards), which offers improved technology and performance. However, the 2010 model remains a compelling choice for those seeking an affordable and engaging roadster experience. The Fiat 124 Spider, based on the ND Miata platform, offers a slightly different styling and engine, and could be considered. Ultimately, the Miata's blend of affordability, reliability, and driving fun makes it a standout in its class.

The best old guy go cart on the planet! After riding motorcycles for 56 years, at 66, I bought a 2010 Miata MX5 GT with soft top and 6 speed auto/manual. Weighing 175 lbs. puts the car with equal weight on all 4 wheels. This is the most fun car Iβve owned. My grandson will get it when I kick the bucket. Iβll be hanging on to it as long as I can.

Good ride with pick me up!I just purchased a 2010 Mazda Miata yesterday and I Love it! It's so me. I said I wanted my own selfish car and I have it. I own a 2017 Kia Sedona minivan for the family. I'm always sacrificing as us women may do and I wanted something just for me. I am pleased! I found the listing on Cars.com.

A great car.The more I drive it the more I love it. It corners like its on rails, smooth cruising at any speed and when you press on the gas it just goes. Beautifully designed, a real attention getter. A car that makes you feel good just to be driving it. A little hard to get in and out of but you adjust to this. The seats are not very comfortable, there is a lack of small item storage space and the fuel filler cover release is poorly located. All in all this is a car you will love.

A 1960s BeautyIf you thought the roadsters of the 1960s were the best, drive a Miata. While the new model has lost some of this, and Mazda has not ambrassed the best technology of the day, it?s still a beauty and a great car. Just don?t reject the previous version.

Affordable fun sports carThis is an awesome car for all ages. Super fun to cruise or commute in. Never had any out of the ordinary issues with it.

FUN in the SunMy 1996 Miata was totaled so I bought a new 2010. It is more comfortable and sounds great. I liked the go cart like handling of the 96, so I upgraded the sway bars, strut tower brace and frame braces. The standard car handles great, just not stiff. It is a weekend car but I drove my 96 daily with no issues. This car can't be beat on price and fun.
